Ramadan and Eid Hashflags introduced on Twitter

After the launch of country-specific hashflags for Worldcup, Twitter launches its second set of hashflags for Ramadan and Eid.

The hashflags constitute of a blue crescent for #Ramadan and Arabic Calligraphy for #Eid.


“This week, more than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world will observe the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar as Ramadan, the month of fasting,” says Twitter. “And they will also gather on Twitter to share their celebration. In fact, based on our research, people sent more than 74.2m tweets about Ramadan from around the world last year.”

This year, a huge number of Muslims are tweeting about their physical and spiritual experiences during the month of Ramadan.
